The Cala del Moral Rowing Club was founded over 30 years ago, when a group of friends, many of whom were descendants of fishermen and very attached to the sea, wanted to promote the tradition of Jábega boat rowing, which has existed for a long time in this part of the Malaga coast.
It has been registered as a rowing club since 2002 and has competed in all the regattas of the boat league ever since. They currently have teams from all categories, and their mix of youth and experience has given them great sporting success.
In 2008, a competition code and a series of regulations were created to regulate the minimum ages of the jabegotes (rowers), who have since been affiliated with the Andalusian Rowing Federation, and the weight of the boats.
