The pleasure of the vaults
The Maro-Cerro Gordo Cliffs Natural Park is a 12-kilometer stretch of coastline between Malaga and Granada. The uniqueness of its geological formations, with cliffs with a rocky substrate right down to their bottoms, favors the proliferation of underwater fauna and flora.
In the Los Pasadizos area, you'll find a large rock located on the outermost part that reaches almost to the surface and can be used to descend to the bottom. As you descend, you'll discover that the rest of the rocks form corridors or passageways, with a small tunnel in the center standing out.
Get ready to see emblematic species such as groupers, pollock, moray eels, and conger eels, octopuses, and schools of fish native to the area, as well as sea breams, sea breams, and lemon fish. You'll also find areas covered in orange coral, usually near the surface, and other species of cnidarians usually in yellow tones.
If you wish to dive here, we remind you that it is a marine protected area and we recommend guided tours with local companies. Remember to take good care of the environment while you enjoy the experience.
