El Nortomra wreck
Opened in 1918, this former spa resort is a magical place built at the foot of one of the oldest beaches in the city with spectacular views of the sea.
Submerged there is a triangular reef artificially formed with rocks from the San Telmo quarry sunk around 1900. Over the years it gradually naturalized and was colonized by marine organisms.
Today it is a true generator of life in one of the last areas of the city where you can dive or snorkel when the east wind creates the calm sea.
It is very easy to dive from both sides and is full of shallow marine species. During the dive, you will explore the sides of the reef to find depth and be able to see schools of small fish such as anchovies, horse mackerel, castanets, mojaras, and sea bream. Associated with the life of the rock bottom or in the adjacent sand you can see beautiful spirographs, anemones, some corals such as gorgonians, serranids, maidens, hermits, octopuses, cuttlefish, scorpionfish and nudibranchs.
