Flying over water
Los Roqueillos is a well-known dive site, but only suitable for experienced divers. It was formed by a collision of coastal tectonic plates and could be defined as a large, elongated wall that rises 2 to 4 meters from the seabed. You can explore its length and on both sides, where you will find hollows and caves that are home to abundant marine life.
Something unique about the area is that you can see orange coral and candelabra coral at the same depth. The walls are dazzling, full of colors from calcareous algae, sponges, and many other organisms.
The fauna is also spectacular and very diverse due to the influence of the Atlantic and its proximity to the Strait of Gibraltar. Here you can find groupers, pollock, conger eels, moray eels, octopuses, schools of sea bream, three-tailed sea bream, castanets and an endless amount of marine life typical of the Alboran Sea.
