Malaga offers a rich historical and natural heritage, with prehistoric sites and caves that reveal the life of ancient civilisations.

The location, the natural resources, and the good climate have made Malaga an inhabited place since prehistoric times. This can be seen at the La Araña Archaeological Sites and Prehistoric Park of Malaga, where the civilizations of the Neanderthal, Neolithic and Copper Age peoples are preserved and disseminated.

It consists of a Visitor’s Center with reproductions and original pieces from the sites. Among the items found in its hollows and shelters on display are stone tools from the Lower Paleolithic, flint knives and even remains of food, especially products such as mussels from the bay of Malaga.

The caves can be visited by appointment.
