Senda Azul

The Wind Rose
Built on the beach in the 16th century next to the salt mine from which it takes its name, the Salt Tower was part of the coastal surveillance and defence system against pirates. The diving area, also known as the Pearl Reef, is ideal for beginners in diving, as it can be accessed from the shore itself.
Once in the water, you will dive among spectacular rock formations in the form of labyrinthine corridors and underwater caves that are home to a multitude of emblematic species. The depth varies between 5 and 10 meters and throughout the dive it is easy to come across octopuses, conger eels, moray eels and other species such as gorgonians and nudibranchs of great ecological value.
As the dive is quite simple, if you go into the deepest area you can see rock corridors where you will find schools of sparids, salemas and mojarras.
A notable advantage of this reef is that it is semi-protected from westerly storms and you can dive in the shallowest area when this occurs.
